How Did They Do That?
“How Did They Do That?” (HDTDT) is the second video offering from The BNW Bistro on Vero. This will be a series featuring guest artists discussing a photo and how they went from seeing the scene to getting the final image. I’m pleased to say I was selected to be the guest artist on the inaugural episode of “How Did They Do That?” show.
The BNW Bistro’s first video series, The BNW Bistro Show, was a series of videos with various guest artist being interviewed by Dave Payne, the creator and founder of The BNW Bistro. It focuses on the photographer’s story; how they got in to BNW photography and what drives them. The interview discussion also includes a brief discussion of a few there photos. It really is a great series.
How The HDTDT Video Came To Be
I mentioned to Dave that I loved the series but that it left me wanting more. By this I meant I wanted to learn more about two things. First and most importantly, I wanted to get into their heads and learn what caught their eye, how they visualized the final image, and what made them want to make that photograph. Along with this, I was interested in the technical steps of how they made the photo. I always want to learn more. I wanted to hear the story of the photo from conception to final product.
The “How Did They Do That?” video series came about from talking with Dave that about this type of discussion. I thought it might be a good follow-up video series to the guest artist interviews on “The BNW Bistro Show”. Fortunately, Dave thought so too. He really liked the concept of seeing the image straight out of the camera and along with the finished image. Unfortunately, I fell into the trap of when you suggest an idea, you get to be the first person to try it. LOL. I guess I put myself in a “put up or shut up” situation but I really enjoyed it. So here’s the video. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed being part of it.
