Wreaths Across America

Every year the Wreaths Across America (WAA) organization and volunteers place holidays wreaths on the graves at our national cemeteries. This is their mission to Remember, Honor and Teach.

REMEMBER
our fallen U.S. veterans.

HONOR
those who serve.

TEACH
your children the value of freedom.

National Wreath Across America Day is December 17th this year. Volunteer if you can, donate if you can (wreathsacrossamerica.org). If nothing else, remember. We called; they answered.

A few years ago I visited Houston National Cemetery. I find them to be a emotional, peaceful and beautiful place that gives us pause; time to reflect. I’ve always liked the phrase ‘Gardens of Stone‘. As it turns out I was visiting the day after the WAA wreath laying. Prior to this I was not aware of the Wreaths Across America program. I was struck and still am by what a moving tribute it is.
